As part of our commitment to engage with young audiences, we provide a matinee performance especially for schools offering heavily subsidised ticket prices (£5 each), as well as many other benefits.
The Schools Matinee programme includes:
- Two free tickets for a preview performance for all teachers bringing students to the Schools Matinee
- £5 tickets for students at the matinee
- Free post-show discussion and Q & A session with the Resident Assistant Director and members of the cast.
- Free in-school workshop. A theatre practitioner visits the school for either a pre- or post-show workshop to practically explore elements of the production.
- Free online study guide. These are written by a theatre practitioner with specific knowledge of the play or genre.
We offer up to 200 places for each Schools Matinee performance, and we are able to allocate each school a maximum of 25 tickets each. Please note that we give priority to London state schools, although we are sometimes able to consider schools from outside London, and independent schools.
We advise that the majority of our education initiatives are suitable for students aged 14 and over.
