Jo Joelson

Lighting Designer

Jo Joelson is an artist, curator, author, and lighting designer based in London. She is the co-founder of London Fieldworks – an art partnership that formed a notion of ecology as an inter-working of social, natural, and technological worlds – creating works for the gallery, landscape, screen and radio.

Her Theatre credits include: As You Like It (Shakespeare’s Globe / Panasonic Globe Theatre); The Ramayana (National Theatre / Birmingham Repertory Theatre); The Lights; Off the Endz (Royal Court); Pied Piper (Barbican Theatre); The Harder They Come (Theatre Royal Stratford East / West End); Come Dancing; I Was Looking at The Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky; Kingston 14 (Theatre Royal Stratford East); Blue / Orange (Arcola Theatre) and La Musica (Young Vic); 

She is currently co-curating Remember Nature - a 10th anniversary re-staging of Gustav Metzger’s Nationwide Day of Artist Led Action to Stand up for Nature, in collaboration with 15 regional gallery partners including Tate Modern, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Turner Contemporary, Middlesborough Institute of Modern Art.
