Henny Finch

Henny Finch is Executive Director and joint CEO of the Donmar Warehouse.

Henny has spent the past 20 years in leadership positions in the performing arts, and has lead produced theatre and dance shows around the world.

After an early career as an artists’ agent and in fundraising, Henny grew her producing and General Management skills at West End production company Act where she worked on the West End transfers of many plays and musicals initiated in the subsidised sector, including several that had started life at the Donmar. 

In 2005 she joined the Arts Council NPO Oxford Stage Company as Executive Director, rebranding it and creating the touring theatre company Headlong. Between 2009 and 2016, Headlong transferred twelve projects to the West End or Broadway, winning eleven Olivier Awards.

From 2016-2019 Henny was Executive Director of international dance company Hofesh Shechter Company, leading it through a significant period of change and growth and producing a worldwide programme in partnership with major dance and opera houses including Theatre de la Ville in Paris, Teatro alla Scala, Sadler’s Wells, BAM and many others. 

Henny joined the Donmar Warehouse in 2019. She has seen the Donmar through two capital building projects, steered it through Covid-19 and in 2022 led the theatre through a change in business model following its exit from the ACE NPO portfolio. She leads on the Donmar’s commercial transfers, including Sweat, Constellations, Next to Normal and Macbeth (with Cush Jumbo and David Tennant), all in the West End.

Henny is a Clore Fellow (2013-14). She sits on the SOLT and Theatre Development Trust Boards and is vice-chair of the SOLT Policy, Research and Advocacy Committee.
