Take the Stage invites young people to create original work for the Donmar stage -responding to one of our productions as emerging artists in their own right.
Participants team up with our artists-in-residence, teachers, and professional theatre-makers. They collaborate to create exciting new performances which are then performed on the Donmar stage for an invited audience.
Through Take the Stage, young people build theatre-making skills, communication, and confidence. Teachers benefit from professional development and access to the Donmar's resources and artists.
It has been amazing to see students who were so shy get on stage and speak in front of a huge audience! Such a huge boost in self-esteem
