Access Facilities

Wheelchair Access

We welcome audiences in wheelchairs or transferring to bench seating in the auditorium. There are two spaces available in the Stalls at each performance. Please just let us know your requirements when booking.

Support Dogs

Guide, hearing and emotional support assistance dogs are welcome in the auditorium. Please let us know in advance if you intend to bring a guide, hearing or emotional support assistance dog with you to the theatre. Some productions may feature loud noises, so just ask when booking if that might be helpful to know about.

Assistive listening devices

There is a Radio Frequency system fitted in the main auditorium and there are also hearing loops available at all the front of house counters. These amplify sound for hard of hearing patrons and also provide live audio description during designated performances. There is no additional charge for these.

Building Information

Level Access

The theatre is in Earlham Street, which is cobbled but there is a pavement on either side of the road with a smoother surface for wheelchair access. There is a dropped kerb at either end of the street. When you arrive at the theatre, there’s an easy open button outside to open the front doors.

Lift Access

Each level of the theatre is accessible by a lift.

Ground floor: foyer, box office

First floor: stalls, bar

Second floor: circle, accessible toilet

Accessible toilets

There is a step-free accessible toilet on the second floor of the theatre. It’s fitted with a left-hand transfer rail, an emergency red cord, a paddle lever flush, a sink that can be reached from the toilet, and both a hand dryer and paper towels.

Seat Information

Our seats in the stalls are benches which are padded on the seat and back. The seats in the circle are fold down seats that are also padded.

Seats in the Stalls row C are level access. There are two steps down to row A, one step down to row B and one step up to row D. Please note there are no handrails to these seats. In the Circle there are four steps down to row A, one step up to row B and six steps up to row C. These do have handrails.
