At the Donmar, we believe that everyone has the right to experience the life changing power of theatre.
We want new theatregoers, of all ages, to discover our work. We invite you to engage with our artists and ideas, and learn about the art of making theatre.
To achieve this, we offer an exciting range of opportunities for our audiences to get closer to our work.
Each of our productions is accompanied by a series of Open Workshops exploring the play and the rehearsal process. We also create a Behind the Scenes guide for every production containing interviews, rehearsal diaries and images, and a glimpse into the characters in the play.
To access the Behind the Scenes guides for our current production, please visit the show’s page from the What’s on section of our website.
To access the Behind the Scenes guide for a past Donmar production, visit the show’s page in our production archive.
Our unmatched schools’ programme works with young people from across London and beyond, offering many students their first theatregoing experience, and making theatre accessible and affordable for all.
Through our YOUNG+FREE programme, we also engage with youth and community groups beyond school, working both with young people already passionate about the arts, whilst also engaging those that have never before had the opportunity to visit a theatre.
Our work with young people is supported by:
